We use the Cortex system for the Firefly/Serenity game we play, and also the Supernatural game I run. I've recently started using Hero Lab, www.wolflair.com/index.php?context=hero_lab, which is a software with stock characters, make your own characters using character sheets from major gaming systems, a dice roller, combat turn order, and more. Easy to use, very helpful. I'm always looking for resources for game ideas, and have many usable, pre-created NPC's and ideas to share.

The latest 'episode' was alot of fun (even if I did fall asleep about midnight and missed the big fight scene).
It was a good idea and very amusing for those of us whose characters were elsewhere to play some of your npcs.
For those of you not involved in Michele's game, our party split up -- how unusual for a rpg lol -- and the main action was centered around one character. To keep the rest of the players involved, the game master handed out npcs for us to play. All the npcs had a short backstory along with what they knew and their motivations. It was much fun to play a one shot character, even more so since they were all patients in a mental asylum, meaning we got to be way over the top in our action. Entertaining and a clever way to deal with a split party.

Glad you had fun.
So far there've been telepath demons, Dethklok, dream walker misfits, an unsolved mystery ghosty demony 'thing' (who's now is all the characters' bestest friends), yetzer ha-ra demons, characters discovering they've murdered their own family, many many npc's killed but surprisingly only one reg. character killed, via jukebox.
Next up: more mayhem, creepers, Whedon stuff, and a voyage to the stars!
