Hi! My name is Kat. I wandered over here from theforce.net boards. I'm kinda new to the Pittsburgh area and I'm so excited that I found this group! I need to make some friends in the area!! My favorite fandom is Star Wars, although I'm a huge sci-fi/fantasy geek in general. I love playing video games, especially RPGs. Other than that, I like making things--I'm just getting into costuming and hoping to make my first costume by the end of the year. I just added the Facebook page too, so I hope that I get to meet some of you! Kat

Our next real world event is Can't Stop the Serenity on Aug. 6. Hope to see you there.

Hi Kat! We love those things too!! Check out our events for things to do, post your own suggestions for meet ups, and get in on the fun! Lots of people in our group love video games, movies, books, going to conventions, and being geeks. We have two tabletop RPGs running currently, and I love to bs about good ideas for them. There are also many good resources as far as costuming.

Thanks for the kind greetings! I don't think I'll be able to make Can't Stop the Serenity...but how often do you guys do the tabletop RPGs? My husband is really into them and has been thinking about looking for a group around here.

Typically we play an ongoing Firefly/Serenity game on Friday of one week, then the following week we play the Supernatural game on Saturday. It's difficult to find games in the Pittsburgh area. Legions on Perry Highway has regular games running at their store, but it looks to me like a majority of them are war/military games. And their staff seems quirky. They don't talk much if at all. Or maybe it's just me. I should let them know that it's ok to talk to me, I don't bite...not without warning or provocation. Or if I get really excited.

did you say costuming? I belong to the Steel City Ghostbusters, and I make props for my GBSI (Ghostbusters Scientific Investigations) webisodes. My one room in the basement is a Ghostbusting lab complete with ectocontainment unit. : )

I haven't been living out here for long, I still don't nkow where a lot of things are.

Post pics of costumes and collections in the Member Creation boards!
Show off all those spiffy things. I'd love to see photos of that Ghostbuster lab.
